Neurologist for adults
Dr De Roquemaurel completed his neurology training in France (Caen-Normandie University Hospital), along with a master degree in neurosciences. He then completed a 2-year fellowship experience in London (National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square), where he had the opportunity to further specialize in Movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease both through delivering clinical care and through participation to clinical research. This allowed him to gain experience with deep brain stimulation for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, tremor and dystonia.
Following this additional training, Dr De Roquemaurel returned to France where he worked for about 18 months, within the department of Neurology, Aix-En-Provence Hospital. During this time, he was involved with the Parkinson’s disease expert centre and in parallel, developed an interest in dizziness and vertigo. This led him to work in collaboration with ENT specialist within the Vertigo expert centre, Marseille, where he reviewed outpatients with suspected neurological conditions presenting with vertigo or dizziness.
Dr De Roquemaurel currently work as a consultant Neurologist at University Hospital Lewisham, south-east London with both outpatient general neurology clinics and inpatients reviews. Given his prior experience and training, his areas of interest include movement disorders (tremor, Parkinson’s disease), dizziness and vertigo (acute or chronic), however other conditions such as headaches and epilepsy also represent a significant part of his practice.
